The dudes are out of the "office" this week and out where we ought to be.
Word is Fast Jimmy will have some big news when he returns home from his honeymoon at el Pescador in Belize. I won't steal his thunder here, but let's just say I'm really looking forward to seeing the pictures
.
Go figure, after a pretty serious thunderstorm and some tense moments about making my connection here I find myself with the most leg room I've ever had on an airplane.
By 11 tonight I'll be back in my old stompings grounds of the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming tryin to get off the grid and score with the local...trout that is. Keeping my fingers crossed that likely my last trout trip before heading north for the lake run jumbo version is filled with as much positive karma as the rest of my summer.
Here's to continued good fishin and a good time to Mr. and Mrs. Fast Jimmy, and congratulations again.
Fall in Wyoming - there's no better place to be.

Dudewater done up...
- The dudes are looking dapper for one part of the Dudewater crew's big day.
Although this cold rain might be pushing everything inside, no doubt it will bring Becky and Jimmy lots of luck in their life together (and, of course, the start of chromers rolling into our home waters).
Blessings abound.
Best of luck to Becky and Jimmy in their future together.

The 5 Best Feelings in Fly Fishing?
With the countdown to my impending nuptials dwindling to single digits this week, I thought I'd do something a little different for my last two posts as a single Dude. I'd like to get a little more reader engagement going on the blog, so we'll start by compiling the 5 best feelings in fly fishing. Note that for discussions sake, feeling is different than "moment," or "accomplishment,"; we'll keep it sensory for this one. Also note that my list is based on my own experiences, which are inherently limited. I'm hoping that by the time I return from the honeymoon, it will need modifying.
1. The steelhead swung-fly grab
2. The power of a tarpon
3. Sticking the dry fly hookset on a 20+
4. Putting it on a dime at 60 +
5. The "thump" of running line against the reel on a well-executed Spey cast

Ain't it Funny
Ain't it funny how the time slips away? Barely a month removed from the trout crusade, it already seems a distant memory. The cool, wet winds of change are a blowin', and my thoughts have turned to two handers and doodaddies (steelhead season, for the Dudewater novice). Yours probably have too and you're probably tired of hearing the longest story ever told, so we'll cut the fat and just leave you with pictures and captions on the final roundup. It was a hell of a ride, but the pictures tell the story as well I could anyways....
